Identify issue Code 10 on MSI X870 MAG Tomahawk Pro Wi-Fi using AMD 9800X3D.
I assembled a PC using the MSI X870 MAG Tomahawk Pro Wi-Fi board and an AMD 9800X3D processor. Here’s the sequence: 1. Updated BIOS to the newest release prior to hardware setup. 2. Started in BIOS, turned on EXPO for RAM and saved without altering other settings. 3. Shut down, inserted a Windows 11 USB drive, and restarted. On the second boot: GPU and CPU fans were active, but system fans remained off. Error Code 10 flashed with a red indicator (CPU) and orange (RAM). Attempts: Reflashed BIOS and cleared CMOS. Replaced CPU, GPU, and RAM, then reconnected the 8-pin CPU connectors. Present condition: System fans now operate, but Error Code 10 stays with orange (RAM) and red (CPU) lights. Any guidance on troubleshooting or fixing this would be helpful!
Do you have G.Skill Trident Neo RAM by any chance? This is a common problem with this motherboard with this RAM. And MSI's support is not acknowledging this issue at all, let alone fixing it. Normally, restarting again should get you going.
