My configuration: Asus strix B550-f, Noctua nh-u12a, Ryzen 9 5900x This is my initial project so I'm a bit cautious. I thought I might post this here for advice. While setting up the CPU, I gently lowered it into the socket but overlooked the open handle and the bottom of the chip touched it. Once it was in place, I made sure to apply just the right amount of thermal paste and then carefully removed it. After unscrewing, I found the cooler stuck to the CPU, so I gently worked with my fingers, moving slowly. It came off cleanly and the CPU stayed safely inside its socket—though it made a really loud sucking noise when the paste gave way. I'm wondering if you think the pins or the CPU might have been affected by these actions? From what I understand, AMD pins are quite delicate. The machine started up and all the cores/memory units were recognized.

Regarding CPUs, yes, they function as a whole or not at all; if they start up properly, everything works, but if there are problems early on, it’s clear the issue is with the hardware.
When installed properly, the CPU should function correctly and maintain proper contact with the socket pins. If a pin is damaged, it may need relocation; otherwise, it might still fit without problems or could be difficult to install if misaligned. Once installed, the system should start up normally for the PC. Regarding PC concerns, various components can behave unexpectedly, sometimes taking time to resolve. If you notice error lights on the motherboard or display panel, it could either simplify troubleshooting or complicate it. When working with AMD RYZEN BIOS, you might encounter boot loops or other issues, but if everything operates smoothly and you can access the BIOS and boot into your operating system (Windows/Linux), everything should be okay.
