I recently reset my 7700k. Temperatures dropped significantly even after setting it to 5ghz with the preset overclocks in the BIOS. I’ve been playing games such as Black Ops 4, Atlas, and PUBG without any problems. However, when I play Madden 19, around ten minutes in, I encounter a BSOD with the error code irql_not_less_or_equal. I ran a memory test but didn’t see anything abnormal. Eventually, I disabled the overclock and raised it to 4.8, which resolved the issue. The voltage at 5ghz was 1.38v. I don’t recall the exact voltage at 4.8ghz. My 650w power supply is it possible that it was drawing too much power and caused the problem?

It's unlikely the power supply was drawing too much, you have ample capacity.

I faced the same problem with my 6600k when trying to adjust from 4.6 to 4.7. I fixed it by increasing the voltage, but it just brought me back to 4.6 at 1.28. Since the higher voltage didn't help much at 100MHz, I ended up using 1.4-1.41. I'll be monitoring this thread for possible solutions.
