He purchased a compact Netgear extender and found mixed results on his 2015 iMac. The router is in their room near the driveway, while the 2.4GHz signal struggles to cover 20-30ft through the floor to the kitchen and then another 20-30ft across open space before reaching the iMac. The extender repeats the signal another 20-30ft through a wall with open area, then another wall to the iMac. For better Wi-Fi range, consider upgrading to a mesh network system or a directional antenna setup to improve coverage.

He wasn't able to do it since the team installed the mini Ethernet adapter in their space.

I spotted the video. It seems the bases aren't wireless, but if your dad is willing to adjust his setup and manage cables properly, you can significantly improve the Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house.

You might connect the Wi-Fi router nearer to the iMac for better performance.
