I thought storage server was related to FreeNAS, but I'm sure it won't be suitable for website hosting.

It's a standard Ubuntu system with XFCE as the desktop environment. It runs lighter than Unity, using the default setup. Alternatively, you can install Ubuntu Server, open a terminal, run "sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop", enter your password, and then select the Xubuntu interface during login.
