Idea For Amazing Racing Game
Idea For Amazing Racing Game
. What do you think? Any ideas or changes you’d suggest?
I was considering getting a new racing game soon and noticed most current titles still stick to the same basic format from years past. I explored indie gems like "My Summer Car" and AAA high-fidelity titles such as "Forza Motorsport 7." Then I had an idea—merging the building, customization, funny humor, and crash mechanics from My Summer Car with the surreal elements of Forza Motorsport would create something exceptional.
Imagine a game where players enter a world with a damaged car, need to fix it, then race online or complete side quests to earn money for upgrades. The focus would shift away from flashy supercars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis toward performance tweaks. Players could aim for top-tier factory cars in 2018 models, like the Ford Focus RS, and tackle maintenance tasks such as oil changes. Mechanical problems could include head gasket failures for those who keep pushing their engine to its limits.
In essence, you’d blend the hands-on mechanics of My Summer Car with the open-world freedom of games like "Forza Horizon" or "The Crew." This would let players craft their ideal vehicle, enjoy endless customization, and experience a realistic driving feel.
Personally, I drive a modified VW GTI and love road trips with friends in the mountains. This concept lets players own their car just as I do—without taking it to a shop, constantly modifying it. It would offer limitless personalization.
The only downside is that I’m not a game developer, so I’m unsure how to bring this vision to life. Unless a serious team takes it seriously, it might remain just a dream for now

More similar to Forza realism featuring My Summer Car building, modding, physical and mechanical wear. Gamers could test their creations by rolling up to the lights and evaluating their setups, just like in real racing. Sometimes a player might be invited to a race by a friend, but the request could be declined if the timing isn’t quite right—like when someone says, “I’m still tweaking my setup, I’ll join next time.”
Another game similar to what you're mentioning exists. It's quite old, but I'd be interested in a new version of it. Its title is Street Legal Racing. You can design your vehicle, apply mods, take physical damage, and experience mechanical issues (though not too realistic—crashing at 400km/h would only move your engine away from the car and the front wheels).
You seem to recall Street Legal Racing, did you? I think I played it once a while back. It was a great experience, even though the track features various vehicles. The realism and handling feel off, and I remember there wasn’t online multiplayer available. It’s definitely helping me move closer to what I want in a game! I haven’t heard much about it lately.
