Hello, the icons on your desktop have vanished unexpectedly. I'm not sure what caused it. Anyone know what might be happening?

I noticed all your icons are present, though a few are absent. It seems you might have deleted or relocated the program or game but left the shortcut on your desktop. If nothing changed, clear the icon cache in Windows and restart your computer. If that doesn’t help, right-click the shortcut, choose Properties, go to the Shortcut tab, select "Change Icon," and pick the appropriate image for the game or application. You may need to use the browse option to select the correct executable file, and adjust the icon if necessary.

You haven’t made any changes. The phrase refers to clearing the cache of the Windows icon manager, but restarting didn’t help. Adjusting one setting at a time still doesn’t resolve the issue. It’s unclear why permissions are being requested for this change.
