Hello, I purchased and set up Windows 8.1 Pro yesterday. I noticed that when I right-click an app, it displays a menu with two large icons. I’m not sure why this happens. I haven’t looked up online because I’m unsure how to search effectively. Please let me know if the title is confusing or anything else you’d like clarified.
Do you have a theme set up? Check the personalize settings page for more details.
I haven’t downloaded anything that might alter the theme. I’ve attempted “big contrast” themes before, but they didn’t make a difference. I also tried “big contrast white,” but it didn’t work either.
I’d rather not wait that long; I’ll try reinstalling if no one responds.
I'm facing the same issue again. The new machine I just installed and patched seems to be affected. It looks like one of the recent updates caused the problem. If you have a fix, please share it here. Thanks. P.S.: I noticed the background color for the menu is set to match the metro start menu's background. You can adjust it by searching for "Backgrond start" and changing the color as needed.
