Click the taskbar, select Taskbar settings, then in the Notification area choose “Select which icons appear on the taskbar”. Is the option enabled?

I’m not aware of any option to adjust those settings. The laptop displays seem uniform in size. If one appears smaller, it could help align them more closely. When responding, always include their exact words using the quote feature or tag them for visibility so others notice your reply.

My laptop measures 15.6 inches at 1366x768 resolution, while a similar school model is 13.3 inches at the same aspect ratio. My friend uses a 1080p 24-inch display with icons placed closely together.

Are you using a touchscreen laptop? That might require moving it more to select the correct one.

Check Device Manager for Human Interface Devices. Look for any touch-screen entries. When you activate the Action Center, it might show options such as Tablet Mode if it's enabled.
