How much performance can you achieve with this CPU on the MSI Z490 Tomahawk board? You have a 2x8 Patriot Viper steel 4400 MHz CL19 RAM, running at 4000MHz CL15-16-16. I'm concerned the memory controller might be under strain, so overclocking seems unlikely to help. Also, what voltage settings would be safe?
Conditions are good, voltages are stable. At high temperatures around 10850K, frequencies typically reach 5GHz to 5.1GHz. You'll likely see a current draw of about 1.35-1.4v, potentially higher with a heavy load. Stressing the memory controller doesn't usually lower the maximum clock speed you can achieve; it might, however, cause instability in CPU overclocks, leading to a loss of 50-100MHz in stable clocks during tests like Linpack.
Regarding cache ratio, it's not recommended to adjust it unless you're targeting specific performance gains. Increasing it further could strain the memory controller and may negate any overclocking advantages. Keeping it at the stock level with just the CPU ratio OC is usually sufficient.
