Hi, based on the title, you're running an i7-9700k at 4.8GHz across all cores. It's currently sitting between 47-50°C during idle. You're using a Corsair H115i Pro, a 280mm rad AIO with a front-mounted dark base 700 case, and it's set to pull mode for fresh cold air intake. I'm curious if 50°C is within the normal range for this processor. If not, what adjustments would help? Your setup includes an i7-9700k @4.8GHz with MSI MPG Gaming Pro Carbon AC 16GB DDR4 at 3200MHz (XMP), paired with an RTX 2080 (MSI Gaming X Trio) and a 11-1000W Samsungs 970 Pro Dark Base 700. You didn't apply thermal paste since it was already applied on the H115i Pro. Your original settings were default OC at 4.6GHz, which was around 45°C—possibly a bit low. Thanks ahead for your help!

Your fan curve is configured on the H115i by adjusting the speed settings according to your desired performance and noise preferences.

It runs quietly. Around 600 RPM for the two fans, 1100 for the pump.

The issue is clear. A temperature of 50°C isn't bad during idle, and with a quiet profile setting, it won't get better unless you adjust the fan curve.

You're wondering if boosting the volume will help, but staying at a moderate 50° might actually be better for the long term.

50°C isn't inherently bad. If you prefer a quiet look, maintain that setting. You can adjust it to a bolder shape and test how noise affects cooling. If it sounds too loud, lower it back to silent. Another option is to lower the CPU temperature and reduce heat buildup.

It's my very first built gaming PC, I think I should avoid disassembling it right now, but I'm sure it makes a big impact. You keep mentioning "curve," but in your Corsair iCUE program you can only switch between three profiles—silent, balanced, and intense (or zero). Is there a more detailed method to adjust the speed? EDIT: I’d like an option for silent mode and increased spin when CPU load rises. Can Corsair handle that? EDIT2: Nvm, just discovered this on January 4, 2019 by xvladyo

Great to hear you discovered it! You can always create a tailored profile too. Keep it quiet when it's cold and increase the volume when it warms up. Having your first build is exciting! Assembling PCs is quite enjoyable.
