I7-9700 temperature issues
I've observed that after switching from an i5, my CPU has been running quite warm and noisy... when I play Assassin's Creed Odyssey on my i7, the temperature stays around 75°C to 80°C, and my monitor shows a peak of about 91°C, though it rarely exceeds 81°C. During idle time with minimal activity, the temperature drops to around 40°C. My main concern is whether this level is safe and if it could cause any issues. My hardware includes an EVGA GTX 1080 SC, an i7-9700 MOBO processor, 24GB RAM, a 600W PSU, and a standard CPU fan. I’m not planning to upgrade cooling solutions, so I want to know if there are any adjustments or checks I should consider.
It's only risky if your system is about to shut down because of heat. The CPU will slow down to prevent damage, which noticeably affects speed. If you're not experiencing thermal throttling, you can handle it, but I recommend using a better cooler. Standard Intel coolers are generally ineffective.
