Which model? If I had your budget, I’d purchase a $30 Xeon from eBay or Aliexpress and drop it in. Once upgraded, it could compete head-to-head in multi-core setups using contemporary entry-level or mid-range processors.

It will definitely run faster if cooling and power supply are adequate. This board is compatible with overclocking. Look for overclocking instructions—there are numerous resources, including the forum thread on Xeon HEDT, where I’ve shared some advice. Overclocking this processor and system isn’t difficult, but it does require some preparation.
