Hi, I'm trying to run my i7 8700k at 5.0 ghz but it's still at 4.8 ghz. I have some thermal headroom when using 1.27 volts, and I've tried different voltages like 1.37 volts without problems. Even though I followed an overclocking guide from derbaur and my motherboard is an ASUS Z370-E, I keep getting BSODs. I'm not sure what else might be missing. Thanks in advance.

Try to increase the voltage if the CPU isn't throttling due to heat.

If XMP is active, attempt to turn it off while testing a steady CPU overclock. Your XMP settings could be inconsistent. Remove it from consideration. Once you achieve a reliable overclock, you may re-enable XMP.
