Conditions will improve after removing the coating, that's for sure. However, it isn't always a good idea. Temperatures could fall by about 20 degrees if done properly using liquid metal.

It’s frustrating realizing the result wasn’t what you expected. I assumed everything was fine with the temperatures, but I might have overlooked certain adjustments that could help. How does AVX function during overclocking?

That's quite the comparison! So, boosting temperatures might help avoid thermal throttling, but it won't necessarily improve the chip itself for optimization.

before i cooled my 8700k it worked smoothly at around 90°C during stress tests. once it was cooled and dropped to 25°C, it stayed stable at those settings. definitely, cooler temperatures make a big difference, though the performance still hinges on the silicon quality.

Avx tasks usually demand more power than regular jobs. An avx adjustment lowers the CPU's clock speed during these tasks to maintain stability, which could allow you to achieve higher speeds in other situations. Cutting down the temperature helps cut down voltage loss, meaning you might hit 5 GHz with less current.

I share your setup—i7-9700K with 5.225GHz base clock on all cores. Without tweaks, it’s stable at that speed. With adjustments, you might hit 5.4GHz. Temperatures on a single 120mm radiator stay around 75°C, but upgrading the cooler will be necessary for higher frequencies. Luckily, I got into this through a lucky draw!

Comparing 9700K and 8086K depends on your needs, but 8086K is generally older and less powerful.

They didn't note that the motherboard BIOS was upgraded to the newest release, enabling support for Intel 9th Gen CPUs. Does this change how the current chip behaves under overclocking?

Depends a lot. 9700k offers 2 extra cores but loses 4 threads. Plus, it comes with a soldered IHS rather than the custom design used in earlier generations.
