I7 7700k doesn't overheat, try this alternative instead. People mention 10 degrees lower temperatures. Check the links for details: https://communities.intel.com/thread/112262 and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nioRVSqjFg0. Also see the MSI B250 PC MATE update with current CPU temps (CPU PLL OC voltage 1.100 on MSI B250 PC MATE mb). Additional info available at http://peecee.dk/upload/view/467715/full and http://peecee.dk/upload/view/467716/full.

I don't quite understand... go through all of this now... every single page...
It looks like the "cpu pll oc" isn't doing anything specific??!
They seem to adjust the voltage and it just changes temperatures without any other effect!
Some people still manage to get their normal RAM OC settings even when setting the voltage to something like 1.15 instead of 1.3...
Most users also experience lower temperatures?
I'll try this at home! Maybe I can adjust things so I finally get my 4266 MHz on my RAM!

I experienced cooler readings rather than mid-50s, achieved by setting all core under 50°C during a prime 95 small FFT simply by adjusting the CPLPOL OV voltage.

I reduced the CPU PLD OL voltage and now I see under 50 in Prime 95 Small FFT rather than the mid 50s as in the previous links.

You're seeing different voltages listed in your BIOS, but only one of them shows the PLL OC voltage. This setting might be referred to by a specific name depending on your motherboard model or manufacturer. It's possible it has a different label than "PLL OC." Check your motherboard documentation for the exact terminology used.
