I haven't ever overclocked before because I'm worried about causing damage (just asked friends who knew about this). I was wondering if anyone could assist me in raising my i7-7700k Kaby Lake to 5GHz from its current 4.2GHz. I have a Z270F Gaming motherboard, 16GB of 3200MHz RAM and a 1080 Ti Turbo.

Need a top-notch fan and heatsink or liquid cooling to reach 5GHz. The 7700K gets very hot. There are many YouTube guides available.

As mentioned, achieving 5.0GHz is uncertain. It depends on having a suitable chip or not. If you do, you'll require a minimum of a 240mm AIO.
