i7 6700k OC concerns
Hi, I recently purchased a custom-built PC and it's performing excellently so far. It was also pre-configured with an overclock setting. However, while reviewing CPU-Z, I saw that the voltage is at 1.392V, which some sources say could harm the CPU's lifespan if it exceeds 1.3V. I'm concerned whether my current settings are safe for long-term use and what steps I can take to extend its life.
My system runs at an OC of 4.6GHz on a Gigabyte Z170 gaming-k3 motherboard, using the Corsair H100i V2 with a Corsair link.
I'd appreciate any additional details about my PC if needed. I'm not very familiar with overclocking, but I'm open to adjusting my settings if it could improve durability.
Thanks!
I own identical CPU and cooler, so I recommend opting for the turbo-boosted 4.2Ghz. It matches the performance of a 4.5Ghz OC without any extra complications.
