Hello everyone! I just got an i7-4790k installed on an ASUS Z87-C MB. In performance mode during games, I notice temperatures around 95 degrees after just 2 minutes. The CPU temperature goes up to 4600 MHz. That's a stock cooler, right? 😊
Do you think NH-U12P SE2 will handle my i7 well, or would it be better to opt for NH-D14?
I plan to overclock, and maybe in the future I'll customize the cooling system instead of using TIM. Thanks for your future advice! 😉

The NH-D14 would work more effectively, particularly when overclocked.

Tnx!
How significant the improvement would be?

NH-U12P SE2 is quite quiet, but my D14 performs much better in terms of cooling power.

Thank you! I'd like to pick both answers as solutions.
I've ordered NH-D14 and plan to share results after installation.
Also, when I set my frequency to 4.1GHz, the temperature peaks at 70°C in games using a stock cooler. The auto OC isn't ideal for voltage and temperature control.
Found some comparison here.
