All three will behave alike for gaming purposes. For anything else, aim for 11,600K to 10,700K.

Not suitable because those temperatures exceed the required range.

It depends on the funds available, almost anything could work. Even older I3 models from the last four generations. With affordable RAM and many board choices, it could be a decent project without spending much.

They were focusing on the earlier models. The Ryzen 1st and 2nd series, specifically the a320 and b350 boards, were more affordable compared to Intel boards for CPUs with similar prices.

Sure thing! You're aiming for something modern and future-proof, not old-school stuff. Got it!

The i7-4790k features a 4-core processor with hyperthreading capabilities. The i3-12100 offers the same setup but delivers superior performance thanks to newer technology. The fourth-generation i7 line now aligns with the entry-level i3 category. At its peak, the i7-4790k stood out as the leading consumer CPU; currently, the i7-12700k serves as the top-tier option, boasting 12 cores (8 performance with hyperthreading and 4 efficiency cores). The i9-12900k is another option, but it targets a different market segment that focuses on enthusiasts rather than mainstream users.

Wait, what? The price details seem less trustworthy. I purchased an i7-4790k used on eBay since I already had 32GB RAM and wanted to fully utilize my Z87 board. I allocated 16GB from my Crucial Ballistix Sport on eBay. It’s really durable and performs well. I sometimes find faulty units on eBay, but reputable sellers usually test and package them properly. If I were starting fresh, I’d opt for an i5-11400f or similar 10series with a Samsung EVO SSD and an EVGA Gold power supply.
