Hi, my friend's eBay purchase included several parts: a 850W PSU, ASRock z790 motherboard, i7-13700K processor, 32GB G-Skill 5600 DDR5 RAM, a 4070TI GPU, and a generic AIO cooler. He reported crashes during startup for certain games, even after updating the system and cleaning up Windows 11. We ran Cinebench R23 and noticed crashes on multi-core tests but stability on single-core. After installing Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, even the vanilla benchmark failed. He suspects a problem with the CPU or motherboard, not just RAM changes. The TDP was around 253W; lowering it to 230W helped the benchmark finish without crashes, but Cinebench still failed. Some games worked after reducing TDP to 205W or 190W, especially MW2, Returnal, and GOW. It seems the situation isn't typical and we might be missing something. Updated game list on July 3, 2023.

Did you log the temperatures during the crash or when it didn’t happen? It looks like a cooling problem, especially since all your CB runs worked fine under limited power.

You've run the cinebench test multiple times. Please attempt another run and note the CPU temperatures. The problem seems related to cooling. Are there any additional concerns, such as failure to boot into Windows?
