Are you encountering any issues with cpud? What method are you currently using to measure vcore? You might also want to try Intel XTU. Could the 1.000 reading you have represent the initial vcore rather than the one active during overclocking? I'm using Intel XTU. The maximum voltage reached was 1.100, but it only lasted a few seconds during a 15-minute test.
Also, do you know what impact the temperature of the air would have on the radiator's airflow if it were to use an I7-8700k? I'm mainly concerned about keeping the air inside the radiator directed inward, not letting hot air reach all my parts. That was the main reason I didn't choose the I7-8700k initially.
