i5 6600k 16gb ram 980ti- still viable for 1080p max maybe some 1440?
I've been on ps4 pro for a while, all my friends are on it. I've play alot of monster hunter. The load times have become unbearable. I'm bringing my rig back, but at this point, it's a little long in the tooth...
This is the basics of my setup: 6600k +980ti+ 16 gb ram
This still gonna cut it here in 2019?
Can I still squeeze 1440, or at least 1080p max and get that buttery 60fps? That's why we are here, right? Lol jesus.
I know that's a horrible framework for my question, but I would like to know if it will be able to handle the super demanding titles like anthem? Or am I gonna have to nerf some settings/ or have CPU bottlenecks? I have i5 at safe oc @ 4.4ghz 1.3v

The text discusses the performance of the Anthem game on various PC configurations, particularly focusing on the Intel Core i6600K processor. It highlights that while the CPU can be a bottleneck in some titles due to its quad-core nature, it's unlikely to prevent gameplay entirely, and users may need to adjust settings for optimal frame rates. The text also notes that Anthem is still in early access and lacks optimization, with players experiencing challenges achieving 60 FPS even with high-end graphics cards like the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti. It suggests that these issues should be resolved over time.
That should still be a fairly potent setup, some games might cause issues for all max settings, but thats nearly unavoidable.
The text discusses the Anthem PC game, focusing on its CPU requirements and performance. It explains that while the 6600K processor is capable, it may struggle in particularly demanding titles due to its quad-core nature, requiring some settings adjustments for optimal gameplay. The text also notes that Anthem's optimization is still early access and that initial reports of struggling with frame rates even with a high-end graphics card like the 980TI were common. Finally, it confirms the minimum CPU requirement for Anthem is a 3rd Gen quad core processor and suggests that the 6600K would likely handle this without issue.
Thank you guys so much. Yes sir, I'll stick it out with old faithful(she was SO hot in her heyday) until the next the next generation.
Praise the sun!
That’s a tricky one! Finding those older generation processors at $100 each would be pretty tough. The 6700K and 7700Ks were popular, but they've been around for a while, so their prices reflect that. You are absolutely right to question the price point – $100 is exceptionally low for those specific models.
Here’s a revised version focusing on what you're saying about the challenges of finding them cheap:
“Finding those older generation processors – like the 6700K or 7700Ks – at a price of just $100 each would be incredibly difficult. These CPUs were popular, but they’ve been around for quite some time, and their prices reflect that. It's rare to find them sold for such a low amount; you're much more likely to see them priced higher, closer to what you might expect for older components.”
