Your setup should handle 1440p gaming at medium to ultra settings with the i5 6500, GTX 1060, and 16GB DDR4 RAM. You should be able to maintain around 60fps. Let me know if you need tips!

It really depends on the game, so don’t assume you can play Crysis at 1440p with that card. The CPU won’t impact performance much, which means you might run older games like Skyrim and Fallout NV, and possibly newer ones such as COD or Rocket League.

The GTX 1060 isn't built for 1440P—it's meant for 1080P or higher. For a smooth 1440P display, consider a more capable card like the GTX 1070, which is ideal for that resolution.

You're asking about what I meant, but my current budget is too low to cover a $1070 expense.

If you're on a budget, a 1080P screen would be a better choice than a GTX 1070.

I believe it could work. However, keep in mind the current standards. My friend uses a similar machine and plays games at 4K without issues. You'd likely need to adjust settings carefully.

For the same cost as a 1440p screen, I could get a 21:9 1080p one that’s worth it—or not.
