Checked the performance of Fallout New Vegas on a recent machine. It runs smoothly with an i5 5200U, HD5500 graphics, and 4GB RAM. Upgrading to 8GB RAM would further boost its performance.

I possess a comparable technical sheet on my laptop, allowing AAA titles to run at minimal settings. Games such as Fallout are supported, though performance falls short of expectations.

It seems my i7 4510U works just well (though I do have a subtle graphics card too)

He uses a 2nd gen i7 with HD3000 graphics on his laptop. It runs at mid to high settings around 30-40 FPS without any modifications. You should be all set.
