i5 4690k overclock
Hi, I tried overclocking my i5 4690k and think I succeeded. It’s running at 4.5ghz and 1.2 volts. Idle temps are between 36 to 37°C, and during gaming in F1 they reach about 62 to 63°C. I did a quick stress test with heavy load and the temps went up to 69 to 70°C. I have a deep aftermarket cooler on the CPU. Do you think I’m safe? Or should I keep testing longer? I usually run tests for 30 minutes. Any advice would be great.
Temps and voltages are satisfactory. I plan to extend the stress period beyond 30 minutes to confirm full stability. My standard procedure for stress testing an overclock involves 2 hours of AIDA64 (CPU/FPU/Cache), then a 2-hour Maximum test if everything looks stable. After confirming clocks and voltages, I proceed with a 12-hour Prime95 blend test to ensure complete stability. My 4690k model runs at 4.5ghz with 1.243v.
will examine the running stress test tonight before going to bed. I've been reading a lot and it seems like a lottery with various chips responding differently. I've noticed a huge change in fps between GTA 5 and BF1. Excited so far. But as I mentioned, let's keep it simple for tonight—no specific results expected. So those temperatures I've recorded so far are fine?
