Dear All,
My PC spec includes an Intel Core i5-4690K, Corsair H80i GT CPU cooler, Asus Z97-A Mobo, Kingston Hyper X Fury 1866 8GB DDR3, Intel 730 256GB SSD, Corsair HX650W PSU.
I've managed to increase the i5-4690K to 4.5GHz with VCORE 1.200V, but the idle temperature stays around 45 to 50 degrees Celsius.
Is this normal? My idle means I'm not doing anything on the PC and haven't opened any programs.
Is it typical?
Thanks for your help.

Dear HelloWorld1066,
I am revisiting the lower vcore at 1.130 and CPU at 4.3GHZ. The idle temperatures should be between 44 to 47 degrees. I used Aida64 Extreme for a stress test lasting half an hour; the peak temperature reached was around 70 mid. During a 30-minute playthrough of GTA V, the CPU temperature peaked at 60 mid. Overall, the temperatures seem acceptable. Another concern is the weather—my country experiences around 27 to 32 degrees for about 365 days a year. That could be another factor affecting performance, as my rig isn’t in an air-conditioned room. XD

what about stress testing it, or playing a game to see what the temperatures go to then? That temp is fine but you will only know if it's okay until you properly test it. Also in some bios settings there are adaptive options that only boost the CPU output when necessary. You might have this setting set permanently.

Hello, let's discuss stress testing or running a simulation to observe temperature changes. That temperature is acceptable, but you'll only be certain it's safe once properly tested. Also, some BIOS configurations offer adaptive settings that boost CPU usage only when necessary. You might have this option enabled permanently.

Dear Heeloworld1066
My Vcore is 1.150 and 4.5GHz. I performed a CPU stress test using Aida64 Extreme. The average temperature will be around 70°C mid, with a maximum of 81 or 82 for a few seconds before it drops back to 68–70°C mid.

Is there anything I should improve?
Thanks

FishTail1988 :
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if you could test it under stress or run a simulation to observe how the temperatures behave. The current temperature is acceptable, but only a proper test will confirm if it's safe. Also, some BIOS configurations offer adaptive settings that boost CPU usage only when necessary. You might want to keep this option enabled.

Best,
