Hi everyone, i placed an order for a used motherboard. i know it's an older model, but budget is tight. the board is asrock fatal1ty z97 killer, paired with an i5 4670k. i'm a bit concerned about compatibility between these components and the motherboard. also, i have an msi rx 570 with 4gb ram, ddr3 memory, and samsung 16gb at 1600mhz. can you help me out? thanks.

With a solid CPU cooler and PSU, overclocking becomes feasible. This configuration works well for current titles but isn't top-tier. You might notice performance drops below 60fps in certain games, as some can fully utilize quad cores. The 4670k isn't as powerful as today's quad processors. It underperforms compared to an i3 8350k.

Alright, I understand what CPU to suggest for this configuration. The PSU is an EVGA 600 watts and the CPU cooler is a Hyper Evo 212. Thanks!

The top CPU you can use is a 4790k, though it’s less powerful than today’s i5 ‘K’ models. When purchasing a motherboard and CPU, it’s wiser to sell your old DDR3 RAM and upgrade to a current CPU/motherboard/RAM setup. It only justifies spending on outdated components if most of the parts are still in use.
