Hi, I tried changing the clock speed of my i5-3570k from 3.4ghz to 4.2 or higher but the BIOS limit is only 4ghz and I can't find a way to unlock it. Could you help me figure out how to make it run faster than 4ghz? My motherboard model is GIGABYTE GA-Z77-D3H.

To properly overclock it, you require a "z model" chipset on your motherboard. For your CPU, it would be either a Z68 or Z77 chipset.
There are boards with different chipsets that enable multiplier settings, but they are clearly restricted.
Ensure your board fully supports this feature.

I would not go over 4 if I were you. It stops you there for a reason. But if you want to, go into the motherboard and increase the voltage.
