Hello!
I aim to be clear: I plan to purchase the i3 6100 and attempt to overclock it.
Can I still perform an overclock on this CPU with the ASRock FatalFury H170 motherboard?
And if the answer is yes, what steps should I take?

Hey! You definitely can overclock it using that board. AsRock created a great solution called F-Stream that lets you boost performance quite a bit!
What operating system are you running? I can provide you with the download link for that ASRock motherboard.
