You're considering different CPU options for your setup. Think about whether you want to upgrade to a faster processor like the i5 11400f with an X6500, which could save money if you're in a location with lower prices (around $434). Or stick with the i3 and add the X6500, using it with PCIe 3. The choice depends on your current location and budget.

The 6500XT or a 3050 will function perfectly.

The $460 is worth more than $3050, while your $430 can run the RTX 6600 via PCIe 3. The 6500 XT should also fit on PCIe 3.

However, the 6500 is restricted to just four PCIe lanes, increasing the likelihood of throttling compared to the 3050, which offers eight lanes and thus double the bandwidth.

The 3050 is likely the better option since the 6500xt tends to slow down over time. In my experience, the 1060 with 6GB offers superior performance compared to the 1060, so it’s worth considering that upgrade.

They're roughly comparable. If you already own a 1060, I wouldn't suggest upgrading.

I sold the 1060 a year ago and now I’m thinking about what’s better—playing Warzone at 1080p, buying the 6500X, getting the 3050 for future security, or holding onto my 1030 until prices fall.

In this context, I suggest going with the 3050.

Your setup can support the RX 6600 if you have the budget. It won’t be restricted by the PCI-E 3.0 port since it utilizes all available lanes. This processor is significantly more powerful than the RTX 3050, and it performs similarly to a 1060 with a 3GB card.
