You currently have everything on one 500GB hard drive, but it’s slow to start. You’re thinking about swapping it out for a faster SSD just for the operating system, keeping your apps from the HDD. Yes, you can do that—just transfer your programs and files to the new SSD before removing the old one.

From my view, most programs function well on a Windows install they weren't built for. If the installer interacts with the registry, it typically handles things like adding the app to the Add/Remove Programs list, managing file associations in the context menu, and possibly prompting uninstallers. The only real reinstall happens when DRM is involved. If there are dependencies, the app assumes they're present and will warn you if they're missing. At that stage, installing the dependency is usually the best path. In short, removing Windows can be done by deleting the Windows folder and the drive's bootloader. Thanks! I figured I'm the only one here who realizes most programs work without installers.
