My preferred choice for AMD systems: For Ryzen 5 models in tier D-E or higher, any board should suffice. It functions adequately but often comes with a higher price tag.

The tomahawk max is just a bit cheaper, around 10-15$, yet the b450-f has been great for me. It’s simple to overclock and fits well in my blackout setup.
