So I created a new VM this evening and it functions quite well, except for the issue of accessing my network drives. I’m unsure what’s causing the problem, as I configured everything identically compared to my previous setup. This one is older: and this one is newer. I’ve added the Virtualbox Guest Additions, but it seems the screen resize feature isn’t working. Perhaps that’s the reason?

I recall encountering this error a few times when trying to mount the drives, but I resolved it by placing it under my Windows ISO in Settings/Storage, and it stopped showing the error afterward.

Setting up a VM isn’t something I do often, so maybe I overlooked something or made a mistake. It feels pointless having it if I can’t transfer files to it.

For practice tonight was fun...
The first time I started, I noticed my ISO file was on an HDD and was installed onto an SSD. I moved it to a better drive.
Two installs froze while updating Windows 10; I kept distracting the installer by shifting focus.
This is the fourth installation of Windows 10 tonight.
I had to hide one update because it always failed, and resizing a non-existent partition was tricky.
I didn’t plan to spend four hours troubleshooting the VM today. One small issue turned into a lot of frustration.

I’d rather ask a proper question... don’t do it yourself.
