I just bought an x58 chipset computer and here is what I have set up. My CPU is a Xeon X5675 running at 3.07 Ghz. The Motherboard is from Msi, the model is X58 Pro-E. For cooling, I used an Antex A40 pro (an air cooler with eight heat pipes and one fan). I have 8 GB of DDR3 RAM at 1600 GHZ (it is running on 1033Ghz) and a GPU from Zotac which is a GTX 1060 with 6GB. Since I am new to overclocking, any advice would be really helpful.

Get a different CPU. The W3690 is way better at overclocking because it lets you change the multipliers easily. But you need to make sure your motherboard also supports this in the BIOS settings. Once that happens, you can just tweak the multiplier for that specific CPU model. I used to be able to go up to 64x on these. No other S1366 Xeon chips from either X or W series have open multipliers right now. It might still be available on eBay though.

Hey, can I ask you if there is a way to adjust the BIOS settings so that we get a stable 3.9 GHz? That would be really helpful thanks!
