Hello everyone, yesterday I received some PC components for free. (Motherboard, CPU, RAM) PC specifications: Motherboard: GA-MA790GPT-UD3H CPU: QuadCore AMD Phenom II X4 945 (3GHz) RAM: 2GB Corsair Dominator CM3X2G1866C9D (2pcs) 2GB Micron 16JTF25664AZ-1G4F1 (2pcs) GPU: GTX570 ASUS (1280mb) PSU: 600W OCZ TECHNOLOGY OCZ600SXS SSD: PATRIOT 128GB (sata) I understand, nothing great Smile But I’m an enthusiast and won’t just throw it away. I’ll look for a good place to use it Big Grin My questions: 1) Can I upgrade the CPU to FX-4130? The seller says it’s compatible with this motherboard, but it uses AM3+, not AM3. How do I know that? 2) If the FX-4130 works fine, what speed should it be? Around 1866MHz? (I plan to buy 4GB x 4 pieces) Thanks in advance, and sorry for the grammar issues, English isn’t my main language Smile

Here’s a revised version of your notes:

The compatible CPUs available are detailed on the Gigabyte website. The 4130 model is marked as N/A, meaning it isn’t applicable; therefore, the top choice would be a Phenom II X6. For RAM speed, 1600MHz is a satisfactory option.
