I put my mobo and cpu from another friend who made sure everything worked, but now the PC has no lights and won't turn on at all. I am not putting the whole thing back together because my gpu isn't there and the usb 3.0 header is missing, but everything else stays in place. My gear includes a Gigabyte B560M DS3H with an i5-11600K, Gskill 16gb ram (only one stick), a Corsair 750W power supply that I think works but can check if needed, and a Gigabyte 3070 8GB card that isn't in yet. I tried taking the ram out and putting it back in, which didn't help much. I also tried using the two pins on the mobo to jump over an issue. I took the cmos battery out and put it back in; this fixed things once but then I left for a few hours and came back and now that won't work either. The only way the pc will turn on is by using the paper clip trick with the 24-pin cable.

Hey there! I think Corsair makes this thing with 750W power. Just checking if it's real. What model do you have and how old is it? On second thought, my rig has a Gigabyte B560M DS3H with an i5-11600K, Gskill 16GB RAM (one stick), a Corsair PSU, and I think the same power source. When writing here about fixing stuff, it's nice to list all your parts' details like this: CPU, cooler, motherboard, RAM, SSD or HDD, GPU, PSU, case, operating system, monitor. Also tell us how old that PSU is besides its make and model number. We'll show two sets of specs, one before the swap and one after the swap. The only way it will turn on is by using the paper clip trick in the 24-pin cable. That's a bad test because it doesn't tell you if the power supply can really work for your whole system.

Thanks for having me! I think every single piece of stuff that came with me and from my friend were all bought back in late 2020. Plus, the GPU and Monitor got a little upgrade last year. The cooler is totally new. CPU: changed to an i5-11600k from an i5-10400. Cooler: Phantom Spirit 120SE RGB. MOBO: moved from an ASRock B460M Pro4 to a Gigabyte B560M DS3H RAM: 1 stick of GSkill Ripjaws 16gb DDR4. Storage: WD 1TB SSD which is my main drive, and I have an older HDD plugged in the lower section of the case so I can pull it out if needed. GPU: Gigabyte 3070 with 8GB. Power supply: Corsair CX600M. Case: Montech from Amazon where I've been trying to find this model since before. OS: Windows 11. Monitor: LG Curved 34" Ultrawide WQHD (3440x1440) bought at Walmart. So the BIOS on my old mobo was fine, but I'm not sure how current the new one is.

It's impossible because the motherboard uses AMD parts but you're looking for an Intel chip like the 11600K. Also, the CX600M power supply isn't modular, and the 750W unit is mostly non-modular too.

I could check things out on my own and that mobo I talked about looks pretty much like it right now. It's almost the exact same thing, but not exactly identical. So one minute passed there. And having a 750 was just me getting confused or making a mistake.

Corsair power supplies often use the same cables when they are modular, but not always. You should look for printing on one side of the box that tells you which model fits your device, like "Type 4." If you haven't damaged anything yet, check if there is a BIOS update number printed on the motherboard with your 10th-gen CPU and see if it matches the upgrade to the 11600K. But if somehow you swapped that processor into a wrong socket and tried it out, nothing will stop from breaking both pieces completely.

I just fixed my answer. It was actually a 560, not a 650. My numbers were flipped. Also, I changed my motherboard since my old one didn't work with the 11600K.
