I suspect I damaged my laptop. It’s a Razer Zephyrus G15. I was rushing and not patient enough, opening it up when the repair shop was still closed. After trying to remove the battery, I accidentally sparked something on the motherboard while moving my arm. Now it won’t turn on, and I’m wearing a sweater—maybe static electricity played a role. Did I mess it up?

It seems like you skipped over some details. If that happened, it looks like the device is faulty. Be sure to avoid wearing loose clothing and try not to wear socks while using it. Using an antistatic wristband is recommended, and if you're unsure, a professional should handle it. Working on laptops is more challenging than desktops because they stay powered on unless the battery is fully removed.

Sure! They need to identify the damaged section and replace it.

If you dive in, try a more affordable laptop. They're significantly simpler for beginners!

It seems like a major issue affected your whole motherboard. I’m not sure if you can still view your update, but they’re asking for $800 to fix it. Because of the original problem that led to this, they’ll need to reinstall Windows too. It’s still cheaper than buying a brand-new laptop, but I’m concerned it might not function exactly the same.
