There are a few questionable suggestions in this discussion. Racing titles such as Project Cars (besides 3) and DIRT are solid choices that offer good scaling and extensive customization options. My top pick for PC racing is Forza Horizon 4, which runs very smoothly. For shooting games, starting with The Bioshock Trilogy would be a smart move. I also recommend DOOM and DOOM Eternal—they both boast impressive optimization. Classics like Max Payne 3, Half Life 2, and the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series open world GTA 5 should perform well on a 1050 with medium settings. The Witcher 3 is another strong open world RPG recommendation. It’s my all-time favorite title. Some older open world experiences worth checking out include Far Cry 3, The Saboteur, Assassins Creed Black Flag, Sleeping Dogs, Batman Arkham City, and Shadow Of Mordor. Simulation titles are a bit uncertain; it really depends on what kind of simulation you're after.
