You're wondering if installing Windows 10 Preview on your 1-year-old PC will let you keep the OS for a year. The company says it might not work that long, so you could be removed after a short period.

Initially they claimed pirate editions would receive an official Windows 10 copy, but later their lawyers became upset and retracted that claim.

They never mentioned an authentic version, just told you could upgrade to Windows 10—that's all.

They clearly stated that upgrading from a Pirate Version would provide an authentic copy, but then changed their stance. There are reports and videos on YouTube discussing this issue.

I needed to reinstall from the Windows 8 preview to the complete version. You might need to do the same with Windows 10.

If you're using Windows 7, 8, or 8.1, you don't need to purchase anything—upgrading is free. However, it's uncertain whether it will work for everyone yet. I'd prefer to keep what you have until the Windows 10 release comes soon.

The preview will stop once Windows 10 becomes available. Microsoft plans to take action on their side to end the preview.

I don't have real-time access to your system details. Please check your operating system by running a command like "What is the OS?" in your terminal or asking your device directly.
