I purchased an omen case with a motherboard. It came with the standard CPU cooler, but I wanted to install a more powerful one that comes with the 3600X. The bolt pattern on the stock cooler is a 3-inch square. The Ryzen pattern is a rectangle measuring about 3 1/2 by 2 1/4. Do you need a bracket to fit it?
Is that among the options where they install an Intel cooler on an AMD CPU? In any case, I don’t think there’s a bracket, but if it’s an Intel design you could still opt for a better Intel cooler—just check if it fits your case.
This really clarifies a lot! I had no idea they did that. It's an intelligent cooling system. Thanks a ton—it was really frustrating.
HP coolers are usually designed specifically for their cases and don’t fit directly into the motherboard tray.
It worked. I'll keep it until I locate a more suitable alternative.
