With proper configuration, you can achieve fast speeds and low latency. Satellite connections tend to have poor performance. Contact your provider to learn about available options. Speak with nearby residents to see their internet experiences. DSL offers decent speeds despite the quality of the wiring, though data usage can be limited.

I’m not very familiar with networking, but cable internet is delivered through underground cables. It’s not just above ground like Wi-Fi. If you’re in a modern city, you’d likely have better options. Xfinity offered $35 for 12 meters at 100 Mbps—it was a great deal back then!

It’s simple to restore an old house with cable or fiber. The main concerns are whether it will work on your street. Contact local contractors and others to find out the costs involved.

It seems you're comparing 'dedicated radio backhaul' with the consumer-focused 'wisp data speed/volume plan.' If available, that's likely your strongest option.
