I replaced a few LEDs in my fans to check if the motherboard header is okay.
I acquired a new case and transferred my prebuilt setup from an old CyberPower unit. While connecting the RGB to the motherboard and skipping the button on my case to make changes, I noticed short circuits in the fan LEDs and a Lian Li Gen 1 strimmer. I’m curious if there’s a method to test the header to confirm it’s still functional before installing new fans from Thermaltake. (D_LED2) Header
They’ll use a USB 2.0 header regardless, which means it should work. This is the solution I received when trying to connect the fans directly to the board rather than the original connector. Appreciate the help!
