I recreated my brother's identical PC, but it still experiences significant FPS drops.
I had the same prebuilt system, except for the CPU and RAM. My PC performed well, with no noticeable FPS drops during games. Still, even though everything matched exactly, my machine experienced significant lag. I’ve unplugged and plugged it back in several times. Initially, he received the RX 6600, but we believed an AMD GPU was the issue, so we sent it back. I upgraded to the RTX 3050 and removed all AMD drivers via DDU before changing the GPU. Despite that, FPS drops persist—often dropping from 120 to around 30 every couple of seconds. I’ve shared the full specifications below. Temperatures remain normal, and all components stay under 60°C. I also verified everything was identical inside the case. The lag still occurs. Could you help?
Are you comparing an LHR GPU to a regular GPU? I've learned that LHR isn't completely safe and can sometimes activate due to non-mining software.
Inspect the thermal paste on both machines; a failing cooler could be the cause. If that doesn’t help, review the BIOS and apply updates—this works for all systems. Also, observe that one machine runs with noticeably higher GPU clock speeds, and unstable clocks may lead to frame drops or low performance.
Two people are handling tasks differently—one uses multiple cores, the other relies on a single core.
