Over the last couple of months I've been eager to upgrade my 4690k/1060-6g setup. Since graphics cards are tough to find, I decided to search for used complete systems, hoping to get something reasonably priced. I received a system with these specifications: CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 3800X, Cooler – Corsair Hydro Series H115i RGB Platinum, 280mm, RAM – HyperX Fury Black DDR4 3200MHz (2x8GB), GPU – Gigabyte AORUS GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER WATERFORCE 8G SSD, 1TB, Storage – Samsung 970 Evo Plus MZ-V7S1T0BW, Power Supply – Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold 850W, Case – Lian-li PC-O11 Dynamic Mini with tempered glass. The total comes to $1550. How do you feel about this offer? Is the price reasonable? Do the components look solid? Can I upgrade the CPU later if needed? Thanks in advance!
It's accurate, a 2080S is currently priced around 800 USD on eBay. If you're ready to pay that amount for a GPU and want to verify it functions properly, it seems reasonable. You might explore offering 1400 or 1500 if possible. Upgrading the CPU later could be an option as stock improves.
I think I’ll consider purchasing it at a lower price. It has an AM4 port, so upgrading for Zen 3 might be possible later. With today’s graphics card prices, the cost here seems reasonable.
You can upgrade to a 5950x later, and used CPUs often come at a good price when the right moment arrives—it's really nice. If my computer failed and I got this exact setup, I'd pay $1550 (up to 90% of $900 for the GPU if it's available), and I'm sure I could confirm it functions properly.
BIOS update means yes, past Zen 3 isn't available yet. If I had to guess, you should be okay for the next generation or two.

It costs around $2250. This setup is how it stacks up against the one I was initially offered.
The current price of 2080 is around 1400USD, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's the best value compared to future models. I'd prefer the 1500USD option and upgrade later if needed. If you stick with the 2250 system for five years, a 1550 model works well—upgrade to the 5950x, sell the older one, and then move up to the 3070. In just two years, you could have a 5950x plus 3070, saving money both now and long-term compared to the 9900K+2080Ti.
