I connected everything and followed the instructions on the bios renamed tool. My motherboard is an Asus CROSSHAIR VI HERO ATX AM4 model. I inserted the USB into the bios USB port and pressed the button, but nothing occurred—just a steady light. My CPU isn’t compatible with the first bios, so I need to update it to work properly with the RYZEN 5 5500. I’m only using it for streaming, which isn’t unusual. I’m still confused because I’ve never done a bios backflash before; I usually rely on the bios to update itself.
Follow the guidelines in the manual. You might need to format the USB stick as FAT32 and name the BIOS file with a specific extension like asus.bin. Use the oldest BIOS versions that are older than the current motherboard model. Updating the BIOS from the USB drive can take around 5 minutes, and you should see a blinking LED during the process.
