I've experienced two similar problems over the past eight years, each involving systems with Silverstone PSUs. I'm struggling to figure out the cause—maybe it's the power supply, my UPS, or the wiring. The first issue started in 2018 after purchasing a SilverStone 750W 80+ Gold modular PSU. I attempted to fix it by shorting the jumpers, but the system still wouldn't power on. I tried resetting everything and eventually switched to a new PSU, which resolved the problem.

Recently, with my AMD Ryzen setup using a SilverStone 650W PSU and a new APC 1500VA UPS, the issue reappeared. I followed the same troubleshooting steps—plugging in, unplugging, and testing—but nothing worked. The computer store helped by simply replacing the PSU, which fixed the problem.

Now, my new system is running smoothly for two years, but again, the power-on issue resurfaces. I'm uncertain if my electrical setup is the problem or if something else is at play. I'm considering whether to replace the PSU or avoid SilverStone models altogether.

You might want to skip the Silverstone PSU for your next buy. Consider a Seasonic GM/GX, Corsair CX/CXM, or MSI MPG A-GF.

The power supply appears to be functioning correctly now. No previous power-up problems have occurred. The outcome remains uncertain until further testing.
