I purchased an R5 3600 but my system isn't functioning properly. The LED indicator on the hard disk is not lighting up, yet when I replace my old CPU everything works correctly. Can someone assist me with my R3 1200AF motherboard, Gigabyte B450M, BIOS version F62?
BIOS is only a year old. I just looked at the changelog and it doesn’t seem the latest two versions include more CPU support. Still, I think updating the BIOS could help. Just install the old CPU carefully (please follow instructions) and update it, then try the new one. The AGESA might significantly impact CPU performance. If that fails, verify proper seating—align the markers for rotation, check for debris in the socket, and try with a different RAM stick or adjust its position.
The original F1 bios should work with the 3600, eliminating the need for extra steps. Still, an update is better—read the new bios instructions thoroughly. If issues persist, ensure you haven’t harmed the 3600 pins, reset the bios, and remove all components except one RAM stick and the boot drive.
What a charming twist—maybe swap it up with something more modern!
