Yesterday I chose to order a 5800X and wanted to get it sooner, so I went to the store. This was my first build and I wasn’t sure what the CPU’s back looked like—the box seemed fine but unopened. I tried fitting it into a socket but it didn’t fit. I shared my issue on r/AMDHelp and someone suggested adding it to the form. I created an account for it. I’ll probably go back to Best Buy and explain what happened, hoping they can send a replacement part. I have an x570 ASUS ROG motherboard, so it should work with a 5000 series chip, and I’ve updated the BIOS recently. I’m hoping no one else falls for this scam. IMG_0430.MOV
I can't view the actual video since I'm running on a work PC, and I don’t want to incur any costs. Also, posting it as MOV might be unnecessary for that format.
Did you purchase it through the Best Buys website or from a physical store?
