I purchased a 3090 model for $600.
I spotted a 3090 for $600 on Facebook Marketplace. Initially doubtful, but considering the price drop from $900 for my 3070, I decided to go ahead. CPUZ confirmed it's genuine and performs similarly to a 3090, handling heat effectively. It arrived without any paperwork or packaging—just a box and nothing else. It’s a PNY RTX 3090 XLR8; I’m not sure if other versions exist but it should be fine. The main concern is the high temperature, which could be due to the card itself rather than an issue with this specific unit.
You can verify if something is stolen by contacting your local police department.
It wasn't something I considered before. I'll tackle it tomorrow.
Take apart the heat sink to expose the chip surface. For the 3090 model, look for the markings GA102-250-KD or GA102-300 on the chip.
